Competitive and Comparative Analysis

A competitive and comparative analysis was conducted to better understand the marketplace and emerging trends.

We looked at competitors to better understand their strengths, weaknesses, and business models. We did not want to replicate these business models, but did want to draw inspiration to implement familiar market solutions.

We found showing the work, outlining the process, and clearly presenting offered services were the most important features.

For our comparative analysis we researched non-traditional platforms were people could offer their creative services or hire freelancers. This allowed us to have a better understanding of why a person may opt to not use a staffing agency to fill their needs.

It was interesting to note that comparators did not use excess animations or elements that could be deemed distracting whereas smaller boutique design agencies did play around more with ‘fun’ elements.
